Planet CT

– for Russell

Russell for Planet CT

In the spring of 2006 I was invited to join the team developing the next custom build of CORE360, Planet Correspondence Technologies' enterprise correspondence platform. CORE360 is designed for the next generation in business to business (b2b) and business to consumer (b2c) customer correspondence management (CCM). CORE360 enables businesses to exchange information electronically and securely with customers and business partners through multiple channels - web, SMS, voice, email and wireless.

Russell for Planet CTThis build was developed for Russell Investments by a team ranging from 20 to 25 people at any given time. I was brought on to assist the lead designer with all front end design and development. I personally handled parts of the wireframe and concepting processes; built out prototypes in XHTML, CSS and Javascript; designed and produced graphics and icons for both the internal and external sites; and wrote all of the system documentation.

Brenda Malkinson

Brenda Malkinson`s website

Brenda Malkinson is an Edmonton artist known not only for incredible works in glass, mark-making and drawing, but as a gifted teacher as well. I was honoured when she contacted me about designing her website, and have been very pleased with the positive feedback since the site has gone live. The idea behind this site was to showcase Brenda's works with a solid and consistent structure, while allowing the life and spontaneity she captures in each piece to shine.

As the lone designer and developer on this project, I began the project in my sketchbook, created the graphics above those scanned sketches in Adobe Photoshop, and built out the site with XHTML, CSS & Javascript.

Liquor Select

Liquor Select`s website

After a complete redesign working closely with the staff at Liquor Select, the site is a great resource for customers finding information on the next tasting, and those looking to learn more about the store and its staff. Standards compliant code and a sophisticated design that resonates with the in-store experience set this site apart from its competitors. Liquor Select continues to provide great service through their knowledgeable staff, terrific selection, and well attended, enjoyable events.

The visual concepts for this site began in my sketchbook, and final artwork was done in Adobe Photoshop. Adobe Illustrator was used to create some of the graphical elements. Very little stock was found that suited my vision for this site, so I shot most of the photographs used on-site in their 149th street store. I coded the site up in XHTML & CSS.
